BW to Color

Image
BW to C o l o r Total time: 10 hours          This was one of my favorite creations I have made so far!  I used analogous, double split complementary and triad for my black and white to color photos.   I kept the pink in the middle consistent throughout all three images.   My favorite version is the analogous version.  It really demonstrates that my favorite colors are purple and pink.  Although this took several hours, it was worth the final product in the end.  I enjoy working with photoshop and I can't wait to use it in other projects.            I had to select each part of the photo and change the color.  I used the quick selection tool to select the part of my photo I wanted to modify.  Next, I went to image adjustments and changed the hue to the specific color in the palettes I was using.  I repeated these steps for the following photos.  The fun part about this project is that I was able to pick any part of the photo to change the hue of.  I thought this was really intere

Tag Brush

Image
This is my tag brush that I created and I will be placing this in all of my projects from now on.  I created two different designs with my tag brush.  I really like the way my brush came out and it really represents me.  I hope to create more logos like this in the future and use them in my career.  The top logo is black and white.  The middle is a 3D effect and the bottom logo is a creative twist to match my style.

Photoshop Links

Photoshop Links Background Eraser Tool  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ve6JhrZBC4 In this video he describes the background eraser tool.  It is very effective when you are trying to cut out a photo with a lot of hair.  You must make a layer under the original photo.  Left click and hold on the eraser tool.  You can adjust the size of the brush to erase the background.  You can also experiment with the tolerance.  It will be more strict if you have a smaller number and most likely will not remove the original image.  This is also used to make a png.  I think this would be useful in a project to replace the backgrounds of the original photo and make it something different.   Dispersion Effect https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyBWcjIvn-o In this video it describes how to create the dispersion effect.  You have to cut out the model using the quick selection tool.  Then click on select and mask, in view mode choose black and refine the edges (second brush).  Output it to a new layer and ma

Propaganda Poster

Image
Propaganda Poster Total Time: 4.5 hours     I was inspired by the quote "Together We Fight".  This quote means that together as a country need to work together to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.  There are three hashtags that I used in my poster.  I used #StayAtHome, #SocialDistancing, and #Covid19.  The first two are actions people can take to prevent the spread.  I used shades of blue as the color palette for my poster because it draws attention to the viewer.  I wanted to use the real colors of a human to demonstrate that we are human and this pandemic is affecting all of us.  People do need to take precaution during these crucial times and reduce the numbers.

Logo

Image
For this project I created five moodboards and five sketches.    I used the words adventurous, passionate, positive and courageous to describe me.    Then I created five logos that I thought could go with my mood boards. I ended up picking passionate because I feel that I give my all when I try to do an assignment or anything in life.    I am very hard-working and I have a lot of passion for what I do.    I did not want my logo to look too basic so I made it look like fire. Then I used complementary colors. I like this technique because the colors do not clash and they both stand out.   S ketching my logos and overall picking one out took about 2 1/2 hours. I am very happy with my outcome and I can’t wait to see what else I do.  Total time: 2 1/2 hours 5 moodboards... 5 sketches 4 logo versions

Calligram

Total Time: 5 hours      For this creation I was inspired by change.  Butterflies represent change, hope and life.  Recently I have been going through a hard time with things happening at home.  Even though I am not physically there, it still effects me in many ways.  I am able to stay strong now but I hope for positive change for my future.  A lot can happen in 20 years.  I honestly do not know what I will be doing in 2040.  I hope that my future is bright and has a positive effect on me.  I know that change will take time to come but I believe it will be worth it in the end.       The picture under my project was the outline I used to create the butterfly shape.  I used the pen tool to trace it and then I filled the shape in with my letter to myself.  I changed the color to purple and I also changed the font.  I added the butterflies antennas with the pencil tool to make sure it looked like a butterfly.  I also used the line segment tool to draw the arrow pointing from 2020 to 2040.
